Information we collect

  • Account information. The name and email address you use to sign in, and the settings you choose.
  • What you ask us to watch. The brands, keywords, tags, and alert rules you configure.
  • Public mentions. Publicly available posts and profiles from third-party networks that match your keywords, together with the analysis we derive from them.
  • Usage information. Basic technical and log data generated when you use the service, so we can keep it running and secure.

How we use information

We use the information above to:

  • provide the service: collect matching mentions, analyze them, and send the alerts and digests you set up;
  • operate, secure, maintain, and improve SoTrace;
  • respond to you when you contact us;
  • meet legal and regulatory obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use the content of your account to advertise to you.

Content from third-party networks

Mentions are gathered from publicly available sources. That content is created and published by third parties on platforms we do not control, and it reaches us through those platforms as it is. We process it to show you what is being said and to estimate sentiment and intent; we do not vouch for its accuracy, completeness, or availability. If you believe content shown in your feed should not appear, contact the originating platform, and let us know so we can help where we can.

How information is shared

We share information only in these limited cases:

  • Service providers. With third parties that process information on our behalf so we can operate and support the service. They may use it only for that purpose and under obligations of confidentiality.
  • Legal reasons. Where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users, the public, or SoTrace.
  • Business transfers. As part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will take reasonable steps to keep the protections in this policy in place.

Retention

We keep information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, and afterwards only as long as necessary to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can ask us to delete your account, after which we remove or anonymize your information within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can update much of your information from your account settings, and you can exercise other rights by contacting us. We will respond consistent with applicable law.

Cookies

We use cookies that are necessary to sign you in and keep the service working. We do not use them to track you across other websites.

Children

SoTrace is intended for use by organizations and adults. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
